With the supply issues hitting all stores we are having a difficult time in keeping up with the growing demand supplying basic food needs to those struggling to feed their families. Last Wednesday we hit an all time high of 357 families coming to the pantry for assistance in feeding their families. We struggled in putting food items together to give them some basic assistance.
In addition to our donations from Feeding Tampa Bay thru our retail pick ups being cut almost in half, stores are limiting the size of orders we can place.
We need your help. Next time at the store take advantage of the bogos or just pick up some basics such as soups, vegetables, Macaroni and cheese, cereal, pasta, rice, beans. Anything that a family can stretch to feed their family and bring the items to church or drop off in the donation box on the side of the church.
In addition, as you know, we try to assist the families in helping them have a Blessed Thanksgiving. We are trying to get turkeys; however, are not getting a commitment that they will be available. If you see any turkeys in your shopping and can pick up an extra one just bring it to church Sunday Nov 7 or Sunday Nov 14.
Lastly. Don’t forget the recycled grocery bags. These are always needed.
God Bless you all for remembering those less fortunate and helping any way you can.
