ABOUT US

"At Atonement, you'll discover God's amazing love revealed through Jesus Christ. Wherever you find yourself on your journey of faith, you're sure to fit in. With people of all ages, from babies to seasoned citizens, Atonement has been sharing the love of Jesus since 1987" - Pastor Scott Lindner

WHY "ATONEMENT"

"When I asked my friend Matt Cox, the founding pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church, why he called this church 'Atonement,' he said, 'Well, actually I was looking for a word that starts with the letter A.  I wanted us to be the first church listed in the Yellow Pages.'  We both shared a laugh, knowing that there was a much deeper meaning to that word.  Atonement is what Jesus did for you and for me on the cross... His blood shed and His body broken.  It's God, pouring out forgiveness and love to all the world.  It's the one true, perfect gift that we can never repay.  That word, Atonement, is the source of our hope.  It is why we love, because God first loved us (1 John 4:19)."

-- Pastor Scott

Atonement brings Biblical truth into today’s world with a focus on God’s grace.

John 3:16 tells us that “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” This message is at the heart of all we do and believe. Pastor Scott has been with Atonement since 2006 and brings a sense of humor and fun to learning about Jesus.

Atonement provides many pathways to enrich your life and grow closer to God.

A variety of Sunday worship options include a 9:30 a.m. Traditional Service and our 11:00 a.m. Contemporary Service with Sunday School. Children are enthusiastic participants in the 11 a.m. Sunday service, which includes time for children's activities. Bible and prayer groups, fellowship and youth activities as well as diverse opportunities to volunteer are available throughout the week.

We are committed to welcoming all people, regardless of race, culture, or background.

Support groups like AA and Al-Anon meet on a regular basis. We are proud to be home to “Helping Hands,” one of the largest local food pantries serving the area north of Tampa. Several Scout groups also meet regularly at Atonement. We are here to serve and be an active part of our "north of Tampa" community.
