It is with sorrow that we inform you of the death of retired pastor, the Rev. David Paul Kruger on March 10, 2026 at the age of 89.

Rev. Kruger was born in Bellevue, Iowa. He attended Wartburg College and Iowa State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. He later attended Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago to earn his M.Div. degree.

He went on serve as mission developer and first pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Loveland, Ohio (1962-66); St. Luke Lutheran Church in Stevensville, Michigan (1966-1972); Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Brighton, Michigan (1972-85); and at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Plant City, Florida (1985-1989). In 1990 Pastor Kruger accepted the call to St. Paul, Tampa, where he served as their pastor until his retirement in November 2002.

Pastor Kruger is survived by his spouse of 33 years, Debby, and seven children and twelve grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 8401 Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, Florida, 33615, on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

We give thanks to God for Rev. Dave Kruger's life and ministry and commend him to God's eternal care.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
