Have anyone ever promised you something that they didn't deliver? I'm not just talking about your internet download speed or a miracle diet, but something personal that someone told you they would give you or do with you or provide you with forever and it just didn't happen...?
Someone once said that promises were made to be broken, but broken promises often lead to broken hearts, jaded attitudes, and an inability to trust others. Often times it is the misdeeds of human beings that lead people to doubt God.
At Atonement this Sunday, we are going to talk about the promises of God. What has he promised you? What has he promised those who follow him? How well has God lived up to those promises? And what do the stars tell us, when we see them sparkling above us in a clear night sky, about the promises God makes?
